That's a good point. And I thought about that before using the name "Expats." I'm definitely aware of the surrounding discourse. I think I could mitigate the criticism through the show and characters being aware of how the words "expat" and "immigrant" impact them. The show would satirise the silly aspects, but address the imbalances, privilege, and so on.
