Please don’t apologize to the bureaucrats; it will only encourage them. Also, if I get to vote, I vote for Season 2. I really enjoy your work, and in a very meaningful way, I get it. Your recap of what you mean by Without Borders was a direct hit. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, I genuinely believed the world was falling apart, but it still sputters along because enough people who were willing to listen to The Others. Your work can help build on that.
Your podcast are fun and very interesting. Building a community without borders that unites us is a noble project and what we need in this world where too many try to divide people. I look forward to a second season!
Thanks for checking out the podcast! My goal is to have 100 paid subscribers before starting up again. That would give me the option to take on fewer students and have the time to write and podcast. As of now, I’ll have to work full time again, which only gives me time to write or podcast, not both. As for donation amounts, it’s hard to say. Anything helps, of course.
If I make around $700/month with writing and podcasting on Subtstack, I can sustain myself with teaching. Anything less means I have to up the teaching hours, and there’s just not enough time in a day to do it all.
And that’s just to get by for the first year. In Spain, Autonomo (Independent contractor) fees, go up to 250 euros and for some people around 400, and you have to pay it no matter your income. That’s why it’s difficult to do podcasting and writing as a “side gig” here.
Nolan, I get it. Thank you for sharing. I'm just getting to know your work, and I would like to offer my support as a paid subscriber. Hoping you are receiving the affirmation for you work you are asking for.
That's means a lot to me, Renee. Thank you. I'm going to explore more of your work this weekend. Are there particular pieces you're hoping will trigger some discussions?
Nolan, Thank you. I could not have anticipated such a thoughtful reply. This month's series on opening to the senses, beginning with "Being Bodies Sensate," is a good start. For the past few months, I have been moving my Substack in the direction of my work on the body and human becoming, whereas when I started, I was writing exclusively about this pilgrimage I'm on. The journey is still in the writing, certainly, and will be, but I'm transitioning to generate conversation around my work and looking toward offering online gatherings soon on embodied presencing. Thank you. I am playing catch-up this weekend on reading and will dive further into your work. Please let me know how I may be of any continued support. Warmly, Renée

I really appreciate that. I hope others feel the same way.

Nolan, I am new to your work and have listened to this podcast this morning. What donation amounts might support the continuation of your work?
